Winter’s Rest 2 - Acrylic on canvas, 40 x 30”. Edges painted & layered/ textured effect.
A friend commissioned a large, semi abstract of a woman in the specific shades used here. I was so nervous at achieving her dream piece I made two concurrently. No two pieces ever evolve identically. I worked in acrylics with a mix of paint thickness and palette knife as well as brushwork for the splatters and run effects. A fabulously messy and enjoyable work to produce and the largest scale on canvas I have worked too; very freeing. She chose the larger of the two finished works and this one is smaller but still a statement piece at 40 × 30”.
